september 13th, day 2 - osborn to mullen and back

Ralph and Lenore at the Tuesday morning pancake breakfast put on by the Vernon Outdoors Club at the campground in Osburn.
Happy cyclists carbing up on pancakes and coffee.

A view of downtown Wallace as we cycle past.

On to Mullen .
Lenore and Ralph pushing the pace.

Rest and water stop. We're almost there.
Laurel waiting to hitch a ride.

Lunch in Mullen with Colin.
Mullen is an old mining town and still has an operating silver mine - the Lucky Friday mine.

A beautiful day for a picnic. Especially when you're starving.
Old folks using the kid's playground equipment.
With all the cyclists in Mullen (about 40 of us) we probably doubled the population of Mullen.

Assembling on the main street of Mullen for the ride back to Osburn.

Easy riding; all downhill.

Welcome to Wallace. Highway I-90 zooms above Wallace on its way to Chicago.

Under the highway at Wallace. A good place to stop on a rainy day, which it wasn't.
Ralph wrestling with the snake that almost attacked Lenore on the trail.

Back in Osburn, having supper Tuesday evening, courtesy of Ralph and Lenore.
