a walk in stanley park

Last Saturday Laurel and I took the Canada Line into Vancouver. We've just left the station here to walk into Stanley Park. That's Canada Place at the end of the street.

This is the view at the entrance to the park.

On the seawall.

Looking north to West Vancouver.

Near Lumberman's Arch with the Lions Gate bridge in the background.

An old tree.

Leaving the park.

View of the Fraser River from the Canada Line on the way home.

Bus ride home from Richmond on Highway 99, near Blundell.

must be december

The Snowflake Queen's mother.

Must be December 1st because Snowflake Queen Kirstin's snowflakes are decorating the windows again for about the fifth year in a row. It's amazing that the flakes haven't all melted by now. No new ones so far this year. Kirstin says"  ......a few old friends; it's nice to see some of the old friendly faces."

a room with a view

This is the entrance to the new Vancouver Convention Centre.

Inside the convention centre.

Across the water to North Vancouver.

Snow for skiing.

Canada Place.

Vancouver.

Float plane landing and the Seabus crossing to North Vancouver.

I attended two seminars at the Vancouver Convention Centre in the past week. The view is fantastic. If you're booking a convention, have it here.

defenceless

Our backyard fence blew down in the big wind  last night.

Our backyard willow tree has grown a lot since Bob and Joe gave it a huge trim back in January. It looks a little lop sided because it is blowing in the wind.

remembrance day bike ride

I rode from our house to Murray and Beth's house. Nice ride along the dike and then through Watershed Park; about 20 k. Just a little rain when I left the trees in the park. Rode back home in the truck with Laurel who was visiting there.
